Everything about keeping an animal in Mumbai changes in June. Walks get shorter, drying becomes a daily ritual, and problems that would be trivial elsewhere turn stubborn if they are ignored for a fortnight.
Paws first
Ask anyone who has raised a dog through a Mumbai monsoon what they wish they had known, and they will say the paws. Rinse and dry between the pads after every single walk from June onward. It takes a minute and it prevents the thing that costs a vet visit.
A drying spot that is not the bed
An animal coming in wet twice a day needs somewhere to dry that is not where it sleeps. Damp bedding for four months produces exactly what you would expect.
Walks
Shorter and more frequent beats one long soaking. Early morning is still the best window - the pavements are passable and the surface is cool enough for paws.
Food storage
Humidity spoils dry food faster than the date on the bag suggests. Sealed containers, and buy smaller quantities through the wet months.
When to see a vet
Persistent scratching, a patch of hair loss, a yeasty smell from the ears, or limping after a walk. None of those improve with another week of watching.
