Rosella Bird

A independent, small bird typically living 15–20 years, the Rosella Bird is raised well in compact Mumbai homes. Density suits it: one brought up around lifts, noise and strangers grows into a calmer animal than one kept apart from all three.

Every bird we place is vet-examined and dewormed before it travels, and you see it on a video call at pickup, once the booking is confirmed.

Caring for a Rosella Bird through a Mumbai year

• Monsoon: four months of rain shape the routine. Dry the bird thoroughly and never let bedding stay damp.
• Diet: pellets and fresh vegetables, not an all-seed bowl. Never avocado, chocolate or caffeine.
• Company: these are social birds - hours of silence are as hard on them as a poor diet.
• Light: a regular day-night cycle; covered at night for uninterrupted sleep.
