What is listed for Sopan Baug is what we can actually deliver. A calm small breed raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

A Cockatiel in a Sopan Baug home

People assume the constraint is square footage. It is usually storage - where the food goes, where the carrier lives, where a wet bird dries off in August. Solve those three and a Cockatiel settles into a Sopan Baug flat with less friction than you would guess.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

There is no quiet route, so the training has to do the work instead. A Cockatiel that walks on a loose lead past traffic, hawkers and other dogs is a pleasure; one that pulls is a daily argument for 15-20 Years. That difference is decided in the first three months.

What it costs, and what it keeps costing

From ₹4,841. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. We would rather quote the real figure and explain what is in it.

Choosing between breeds

The Cockatiel is calm and lives around 15-20 Years. Both facts should sit in the decision. A breed that suits a household at thirty may not suit the same household at forty, and this is a long commitment in a city that moves people around.

The monsoon, honestly

comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward Four months of the year, everything about owning a Cockatiel here is shaped by water - walks get shorter, drying becomes a daily ritual, and skin problems that would be trivial elsewhere turn stubborn if ignored. Plan for it rather than being surprised by it each June.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹4,841. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Vets, records and the monsoon

Every Cockatiel leaves with its health record complete — vaccinations, deworming and a pre-listing check. Register with a Sopan Baug vet in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong: the difference between a clinic that knows your bird and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable.
