What is listed for Nigdi is what we can actually deliver. A cheerful small breed raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

There is no quiet route, so the training has to do the work instead. A Cockatiel that walks on a loose lead past traffic, hawkers and other dogs is a pleasure; one that pulls is a daily argument for 15-20 Years. That difference is decided in the first three months.

Choosing between breeds

If you are weighing the Cockatiel against something else, compare coat and energy rather than looks. In this climate a heavy coat is real work, and a small bird with more energy than your schedule has hours will be unhappy in a way that no amount of affection fixes.

The monsoon, honestly

the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Four months of the year, everything about owning a Cockatiel here is shaped by water - walks get shorter, drying becomes a daily ritual, and skin problems that would be trivial elsewhere turn stubborn if ignored. Plan for it rather than being surprised by it each June.

What it costs, and what it keeps costing

A Cockatiel here starts around ₹6,972 and runs to about ₹6,972, and the spread is mostly documentation and age. The purchase, though, is the part you only pay once. Food, grooming through a humid year and routine veterinary care will each exceed it over 15-20 Years.

A Cockatiel in a Nigdi home

Space in Nigdi is measured carefully, and a small bird has to fit into a plan that was already tight. The good news is that a Cockatiel cares far less about floor area than about whether anyone is in the room. Households here manage this breed in genuinely small flats, and manage it well.
