Walking a tiny breed in a crowded city

Keep the bird on the inside, away from the road, and accept that a Moshi Phata walk is a training session rather than a stroll. A African Love Birds learns the city fast when it is walked deliberately and never learns it at all when it is dragged.

The monsoon, honestly

Ask anyone who has raised a African Love Birds through a Pune monsoon and they will mention the paws first. the balanced weather is one of the easier Indian climates for pet ownership Rinse and dry between the pads after every walk from June onward. It takes a minute and prevents the thing that costs a vet visit.

Choosing between breeds

If you are weighing the African Love Birds against something else, compare coat and energy rather than looks. In this climate a heavy coat is real work, and a tiny bird with more energy than your schedule has hours will be unhappy in a way that no amount of affection fixes.

Vets, boosters and finding help quickly

Every African Love Birds we place leaves with its health record complete - vaccinations, deworming and a check done before listing. It is worth reading properly rather than filing unread, because the next twelve months of scheduling run off it.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹3,838. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Health and handover

Vet-examined, vaccinated and dewormed before it travels, with the records handed over as originals. Keep them with the clinic number — a tiny bird on a booster schedule runs off those original dates.
