What is listed for Kasarwadi is what we can actually deliver. A family friendly small breed raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

The monsoon, honestly

moderate Deccan, which is a polite way of saying the rain arrives and does not leave. A small bird coming in wet twice a day needs a towel routine and somewhere to dry that is not the bed. Fungal trouble in a Yellow Monk starts in exactly the places you stop checking.

A Yellow Monk in a Kasarwadi home

People assume the constraint is square footage. It is usually storage - where the food goes, where the carrier lives, where a wet bird dries off in August. Solve those three and a Yellow Monk settles into a Kasarwadi flat with less friction than you would guess.

Choosing between breeds

The Yellow Monk is family friendly and lives around 5-15 Years. Both facts should sit in the decision. A breed that suits a household at thirty may not suit the same household at forty, and this is a long commitment in a city that moves people around.

Vets, boosters and finding help quickly

Keep the vaccination card and the clinic number in the same place. A small bird on a booster schedule needs the original dates, and the person covering for you on a weekend will need both without having to ask.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

Early mornings are the honest answer. The pavements are passable, the surface is cool enough for paws, and a family friendly Yellow Monk gets to work through its energy before the day starts. Evening walks are for company rather than exercise.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹28,837. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Vets, records and the monsoon

Every Yellow Monk leaves with its health record complete — vaccinations, deworming and a pre-listing check. Register with a Kasarwadi vet in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong: the difference between a clinic that knows your bird and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable.
