A Sun Conure in a Vikramgad home

People assume the constraint is square footage. It is usually storage - where the food goes, where the carrier lives, where a wet bird dries off in August. Solve those three and a Sun Conure settles into a Vikramgad flat with less friction than you would guess.

The monsoon, honestly

Ask anyone who has raised a Sun Conure through a Mumbai monsoon and they will mention the paws first. the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Rinse and dry between the pads after every walk from June onward. It takes a minute and prevents the thing that costs a vet visit.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

Keep the bird on the inside, away from the road, and accept that a Vikramgad walk is a training session rather than a stroll. A Sun Conure learns the city fast when it is walked deliberately and never learns it at all when it is dragged.

Choosing between breeds

Talk to us before you decide rather than after. We would rather place a different bird with you and have it work than sell you the Sun Conure you asked for and hear about it in six months.

What it costs, and what it keeps costing

A Sun Conure here starts around ₹10,037 and runs to about ₹10,037, and the spread is mostly documentation and age. The purchase, though, is the part you only pay once. Food, grooming through a humid year and routine veterinary care will each exceed it over 5-15 Years.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹10,037. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Vets, records and the monsoon

Every Sun Conure leaves with its health record complete — vaccinations, deworming and a pre-listing check. Register with a Vikramgad vet in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong: the difference between a clinic that knows your bird and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable.
