The monsoon, honestly

Ask anyone who has raised a Yellow Monk through a Mumbai monsoon and they will mention the paws first. the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Rinse and dry between the pads after every walk from June onward. It takes a minute and prevents the thing that costs a vet visit.

A Yellow Monk in a Colaba home

The flats here are compact and the buildings are close together, which suits a family friendly breed rather better than isolation would. A Yellow Monk raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

Choosing between breeds

Talk to us before you decide rather than after. We would rather place a different bird with you and have it work than sell you the Yellow Monk you asked for and hear about it in six months.

What it costs, and what it keeps costing

A Yellow Monk here starts around ₹28,837 and runs to about ₹28,837, and the spread is mostly documentation and age. The purchase, though, is the part you only pay once. Food, grooming through a humid year and routine veterinary care will each exceed it over 5-15 Years.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

There is no quiet route, so the training has to do the work instead. A Yellow Monk that walks on a loose lead past traffic, hawkers and other dogs is a pleasure; one that pulls is a daily argument for 5-15 Years. That difference is decided in the first three months.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹28,837. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Vets, records and the monsoon

Every Yellow Monk leaves with its health record complete — vaccinations, deworming and a pre-listing check. Register with a Colaba vet in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong: the difference between a clinic that knows your bird and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable.
