Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Mahabaleshwar: local climate
Summers here are mild, peaking at about 32°C in April, so heat is rarely the problem for a Dusky Lorikeet that it is on the plains.
Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 19°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.
The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are November to May: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
