A Beagle in a Moshi Phata home

What it costs, and what it keeps costing

From ₹22,845. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. We would rather quote the real figure and explain what is in it.

Walking a medium breed in a crowded city

Keep the dog on the inside, away from the road, and accept that a Moshi Phata walk is a training session rather than a stroll. A Beagle learns the city fast when it is walked deliberately and never learns it at all when it is dragged.

Choosing between breeds

If you are weighing the Beagle against something else, compare coat and energy rather than looks. In this climate a heavy coat is real work, and a medium dog with more energy than your schedule has hours will be unhappy in a way that no amount of affection fixes.

Vets, boosters and finding help quickly

Register with a vet before you need one. In a city this size the difference between a clinic that knows your Beagle and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable. Do it in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong.

The cost, and the cost after that

Vets, records and the monsoon

Every Beagle leaves with its health record complete — vaccinations, deworming and a pre-listing check. Register with a Moshi Phata vet in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong: the difference between a clinic that knows your dog and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable.
