What is listed for Mangalwar Peth is what we can actually deliver. A playful small breed raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

The monsoon, honestly

the balanced weather is one of the easier Indian climates for pet ownership Four months of the year, everything about owning a Shih Tzu here is shaped by water - walks get shorter, drying becomes a daily ritual, and skin problems that would be trivial elsewhere turn stubborn if ignored. Plan for it rather than being surprised by it each June.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

Keep the dog on the inside, away from the road, and accept that a Mangalwar Peth walk is a training session rather than a stroll. A Shih Tzu learns the city fast when it is walked deliberately and never learns it at all when it is dragged.

Vets, boosters and finding help quickly

Register with a vet before you need one. In a city this size the difference between a clinic that knows your Shih Tzu and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable. Do it in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong.

A Shih Tzu in a Mangalwar Peth home

The flats here are compact and the buildings are close together, which suits a playful breed rather better than isolation would. A Shih Tzu raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

Choosing between breeds

Talk to us before you decide rather than after. We would rather place a different dog with you and have it work than sell you the Shih Tzu you asked for and hear about it in six months.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹24,227. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Health and handover

Vet-examined, vaccinated and dewormed before it travels, with the records handed over as originals. Keep them with the clinic number — a small dog on a booster schedule runs off those original dates.
