What is listed for Kondhwa is what we can actually deliver. A playful small breed raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

A Shih Tzu in a Kondhwa home

Space in Kondhwa is measured carefully, and a small dog has to fit into a plan that was already tight. The good news is that a Shih Tzu cares far less about floor area than about whether anyone is in the room. Households here manage this breed in genuinely small flats, and manage it well.

Choosing between breeds

The Shih Tzu is playful and lives around 10-16 Years. Both facts should sit in the decision. A breed that suits a household at thirty may not suit the same household at forty, and this is a long commitment in a city that moves people around.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

Keep the dog on the inside, away from the road, and accept that a Kondhwa walk is a training session rather than a stroll. A Shih Tzu learns the city fast when it is walked deliberately and never learns it at all when it is dragged.

The monsoon, honestly

moderate Deccan, which is a polite way of saying the rain arrives and does not leave. A small dog coming in wet twice a day needs a towel routine and somewhere to dry that is not the bed. Fungal trouble in a Shih Tzu starts in exactly the places you stop checking.

Vets, boosters and finding help quickly

Register with a vet before you need one. In a city this size the difference between a clinic that knows your Shih Tzu and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable. Do it in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong.

Vets, records and the monsoon

Every Shih Tzu leaves with its health record complete — vaccinations, deworming and a pre-listing check. Register with a Kondhwa vet in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong: the difference between a clinic that knows your dog and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable.
