A Shih Tzu in a Uttan home

People assume the constraint is square footage. It is usually storage - where the food goes, where the carrier lives, where a wet dog dries off in August. Solve those three and a Shih Tzu settles into a Uttan flat with less friction than you would guess.

Walking a small breed in a crowded city

Early mornings are the honest answer. The pavements are passable, the surface is cool enough for paws, and a playful Shih Tzu gets to work through its energy before the day starts. Evening walks are for company rather than exercise.

The monsoon, honestly

Ask anyone who has raised a Shih Tzu through a Mumbai monsoon and they will mention the paws first. the balanced weather is one of the easier Indian climates for pet ownership Rinse and dry between the pads after every walk from June onward. It takes a minute and prevents the thing that costs a vet visit.

What it costs, and what it keeps costing

Budget ₹23,912 to ₹23,912 for the dog and a similar amount again for the first year. That second number is the one people forget, and it is the one that decides whether a Shih Tzu is comfortable in your household or a strain on it.

Vets, boosters and finding help quickly

Every Shih Tzu we place leaves with its health record complete - vaccinations, deworming and a check done before listing. It is worth reading properly rather than filing unread, because the next twelve months of scheduling run off it.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹23,912. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Health and handover

Vet-examined, vaccinated and dewormed before it travels, with the records handed over as originals. Keep them with the clinic number — a small dog on a booster schedule runs off those original dates.
