A Afghan Hound Puppy in a Kelapur home
The flats here are compact and the buildings are close together, which suits a aloof breed rather better than isolation would. A Afghan Hound Puppy raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.
Choosing between breeds
Talk to us before you decide rather than after. We would rather place a different dog with you and have it work than sell you the Afghan Hound Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
The monsoon, honestly
humid coastal, which is a polite way of saying the rain arrives and does not leave. A large dog coming in wet twice a day needs a towel routine and somewhere to dry that is not the bed. Fungal trouble in a Afghan Hound Puppy starts in exactly the places you stop checking.
What it costs, and what it keeps costing
A Afghan Hound Puppy here starts around ₹78,219 and runs to about ₹78,219, and the spread is mostly documentation and age. The purchase, though, is the part you only pay once. Food, grooming through a humid year and routine veterinary care will each exceed it over 12–14 Years.
Vets, boosters and finding help quickly
Every Afghan Hound Puppy we place leaves with its health record complete - vaccinations, deworming and a check done before listing. It is worth reading properly rather than filing unread, because the next twelve months of scheduling run off it.
The cost, and the cost after that
From ₹78,219. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.
Health and handover
Vet-examined, vaccinated and dewormed before it travels, with the records handed over as originals. Keep them with the clinic number — a large dog on a booster schedule runs off those original dates.
Raising a Afghan Hound in Kelapur: local climate
Kelapur is hottest in May, averaging 44°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Afghan Hound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are mild, with December nights around 12°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Afghan Hound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 34 | 38 | 42 | 44 | 37 | 31 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 29 | 29 |
| Low °C | 13 | 16 | 21 | 26 | 29 | 27 | 24 | 23 | 23 | 20 | 16 | 12 |
| Rain mm | 12 | 9 | 19 | 11 | 16 | 189 | 290 | 235 | 168 | 45 | 11 | 2 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Afghan Hound Puppy
What a large dog needs in a compact Kelapur home.
- Coat: brushed through the humid months, dried thoroughly after rain.
- Traffic: keep the Afghan Hound Puppy on the inside, away from the road, every single walk.
- Space: one spot that is unambiguously its own, however small the flat.
- Food: sealed containers; humidity spoils dry food faster than the date suggests.
- Clinic: number saved, records in the same place.
