We place the Afghan Hound Puppy across Malpur and the wider Gujarat region. Every dog is vet-examined and dewormed before it travels, and you see it on a video call before anything is dispatched.
The monsoon, honestly
daytime temperatures climb high for much of the year, which shapes daily routines Four months of the year, everything about owning a Afghan Hound Puppy here is shaped by water - walks get shorter, drying becomes a daily ritual, and skin problems that would be trivial elsewhere turn stubborn if ignored. Plan for it rather than being surprised by it each June.
Walking a large breed in a crowded city
There is no quiet route, so the training has to do the work instead. A Afghan Hound Puppy that walks on a loose lead past traffic, hawkers and other dogs is a pleasure; one that pulls is a daily argument for 12–14 Years. That difference is decided in the first three months.
What it costs, and what it keeps costing
From ₹78,219. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. We would rather quote the real figure and explain what is in it.
Choosing between breeds
Talk to us before you decide rather than after. We would rather place a different dog with you and have it work than sell you the Afghan Hound Puppy you asked for and hear about it in six months.
Vets, boosters and finding help quickly
Register with a vet before you need one. In a city this size the difference between a clinic that knows your Afghan Hound Puppy and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable. Do it in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong.
The cost, and the cost after that
From ₹78,219. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.
Health and handover
Vet-examined, vaccinated and dewormed before it travels, with the records handed over as originals. Keep them with the clinic number — a large dog on a booster schedule runs off those original dates.
Raising a Afghan Hound in Malpur: local climate
Malpur is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Afghan Hound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.
Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 11°C.
The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.
For a new Afghan Hound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 28 | 32 | 37 | 41 | 43 | 39 | 33 | 31 | 32 | 33 | 32 | 29 |
| Low °C | 11 | 14 | 19 | 24 | 27 | 28 | 25 | 24 | 23 | 20 | 16 | 12 |
| Rain mm | 2 | 2 | 4 | 4 | 7 | 92 | 261 | 251 | 122 | 10 | 5 | 2 |
Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.

Care Tips for Afghan Hound Puppy
What a large dog needs in a compact Malpur home.
- Coat: brushed through the humid months, dried thoroughly after rain.
- Traffic: keep the Afghan Hound Puppy on the inside, away from the road, every single walk.
- Space: one spot that is unambiguously its own, however small the flat.
- Food: sealed containers; humidity spoils dry food faster than the date suggests.
- Clinic: number saved, records in the same place.
Diet and foods to avoid
