A Scottish Fold Kitten in a Shukrawar Peth home

The flats here are compact and the buildings are close together, which suits a friendly breed rather better than isolation would. A Scottish Fold Kitten raised in this density grows up used to noise, lifts and strangers, and is calmer for it.

The monsoon, honestly

Ask anyone who has raised a Scottish Fold Kitten through a Pune monsoon and they will mention the paws first. the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds Rinse and dry between the pads after every walk from June onward. It takes a minute and prevents the thing that costs a vet visit.

Choosing between breeds

If you are weighing the Scottish Fold Kitten against something else, compare coat and energy rather than looks. In this climate a heavy coat is real work, and a medium cat with more energy than your schedule has hours will be unhappy in a way that no amount of affection fixes.

Walking a medium breed in a crowded city

Keep the cat on the inside, away from the road, and accept that a Shukrawar Peth walk is a training session rather than a stroll. A Scottish Fold Kitten learns the city fast when it is walked deliberately and never learns it at all when it is dragged.

What it costs, and what it keeps costing

A Scottish Fold Kitten here starts around ₹75,802 and runs to about ₹75,802, and the spread is mostly documentation and age. The purchase, though, is the part you only pay once. Food, grooming through a humid year and routine veterinary care will each exceed it over 12 to 15 Years.

The cost, and the cost after that

From ₹75,802. Listings well below that usually turn out to be missing the health work, and the saving evaporates at the first vet visit. Budget a similar amount again for year one.

Health and handover

Vet-examined, vaccinated and dewormed before it travels, with the records handed over as originals. Keep them with the clinic number — a medium cat on a booster schedule runs off those original dates.
