A Scottish Fold in a Dhankawadi home

Space in Dhankawadi is measured carefully, and a small cat has to fit into a plan that was already tight. The good news is that a Scottish Fold cares far less about floor area than about whether anyone is in the room. Households here manage this breed in genuinely small flats, and manage it well.

The monsoon, honestly

comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward Four months of the year, everything about owning a Scottish Fold here is shaped by water - walks get shorter, drying becomes a daily ritual, and skin problems that would be trivial elsewhere turn stubborn if ignored. Plan for it rather than being surprised by it each June.

Vets, boosters and finding help quickly

Keep the vaccination card and the clinic number in the same place. A small cat on a booster schedule needs the original dates, and the person covering for you on a weekend will need both without having to ask.

Vets, records and the monsoon

Every Scottish Fold leaves with its health record complete — vaccinations, deworming and a pre-listing check. Register with a Dhankawadi vet in the first fortnight, while nothing is wrong: the difference between a clinic that knows your cat and one meeting it during an emergency is considerable.
